ABOUT US
Dr. Melissa Brown is an Atlanta native. She attended Spelman College in Atlanta, GA, and then the University of Iowa, where she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. After dental school, Dr. Brown practiced as a general dentist for a few years and then moved to NY to pursue her lifelong dream of becoming a pediatric dentist.
Dr. Brown completed a two-year residency program at Mount Sinai Bronx Care Health Systems. During her residency, she gained extensive training in dental sedation. She also treated patients at the Rose F. Kennedy Center at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, a clinic for special needs children and adults.
During her last year of residency, Dr. Brown served as a chief resident of her pediatric dental program. She is a board-certified pediatric dentist, has the highest accreditation level in the specialty, and obtains many hours of continuing education each year.
Dr. Brown’s philosophy is prevention. She enjoys educating her patients about oral care. She believes that when children have access to compassionate, age-appropriate dentistry, they are less likely to have dental fear and more likely to maintain good oral habits into adulthood.
Dr. Brown enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and Big Brothers Big Sisters mentee when not at work. Her hobbies include collecting Lego, traveling, and trying new restaurants.
Welcome to her dental family!
